Support Services

Survivor-led solutions

Sensitivity, Soul, & Support

Our support services reflect the needs and desires of our community. We aim to provide compassionate care for wherever you may be on your healing journey – and espouse the belief that you are your ultimate healer – we simply steward your being to a place of newfound awareness.

The core of our five distinct services share the same soul, and are founded on the same fundamental principles of the Mokwa Model™ – addressing all parts of you.

  • By offering a space free of judgement – connected and aware – we communicate honestly and openly, allowing access to our trauma.

  • By grounding ourselves in empathy, purpose, and the quiet power of the moment, we see and honor one another – guided by love, and driven by the intention to heal.

  • By sharing our life experiences, revelations, moments of inspiration, and hopes thoughtfully – we build relationships based on shared values of trust, understanding, and mutual respect.

  • By expressing our truth to one another, we allow our community to heal, and support one another on our path. By walking in humility – and by honoring the mutual understanding, awareness, and wisdom we have cultivated, we gain insight.

  • By translating our newfound awareness from the abstract world of thought to a concrete manifestation in the physical world – channeling our introspection into realized action – we effect change from the inside out.

A MODEL INSPIRED BY COMPASSION

Trauma Care Accessible to All

For too long the system of access to mental health care and crisis support services has been broken. Profit has taken priority over peace, and greed has dominated over the desire to do good.

Its time for a radical reinvention of what we believe is possible.

Inspired by visionary thinkers and creatives like Sam Harris and Amanda Palmer, Mokwa provides its services on a sliding scale, via a flexible contribution model.

We believe in the art of asking and the goodness of people and pride ourselves on creating a model of mutually beneficial, equitable exchange.

Empathy in action

Sliding Scale Services

Our flexible contribution model is based on an adaptation of sliding scale services within the medicalized model of health care. Essentially, what this means is that no standard price is applied to each service a client is requesting to access.

Instead, three tiers will be provided for each service, giving clients the option to choose which pricing level works for them, their financial resources, and their family. The highest quality care is provided regardless of which pricing tier is selected.

SACRED PLANT MEDICINE WORK

PSYCHEDELIC CONSULTANCY

Employing plant medicine as a potent ally in your personal healing journey should be a deeply intentional, grounded, and thoughtful choice. Whether you’ve traversed this rich and challenging dimension of healing and consciousness before, or feel called to begin a deeper practice, know plant medicine is a choice that should be made in the deepest of care and intention.

As a student of psychedelic literature, research, and altered states of consciousness for over a decade, my work is to unite the worlds of the abstract and the experientialto create a space where clients have the ability to experience the healing of the universal divine – and to traverse the inner realms of their being – from a place of safety and security.

After establishing a profound relationship with psychedelic plants and associated compounds, and being granted the rights and responsibilities of an apprentice medicine woman, my plant medicine work revolves around five domains:

  • I.

Working one on one with clients seeking support before, during, and after a psychedelic journey – via psychedelic integration support and psychedelic exploration intensives.

  • II.

Creating and curating ceremonial spaces anchored in the alchemy of beauty, tradition, harmony, and mutual respect.

  • III.

Partnering with indigenous community leaders to provide, and directly deliver, critical resources and essential supplies to native communities.

  • IV.

Welcoming interested individuals to local, educational events on psychedelic medicine and the use of sacred plants.

  • V.

Attending international conferences at the intersection of psychedelics, healing, and storytelling – in an effort to dispel stigma and increase awareness around the healing potential of entheogens for survivors of child sexual abuse.

Psychedelic & Integration Support

One on one sessions created to serve individuals interested in exploring – or deepening – their relationship to psychedelic experience. For those who are considering this healing modality for the first time, to those practiced psychonauts, clients can expect exemplary pre-journey support, expansive post-journey insight, and gentle guidance as we translate the self knowledge of the experience together.

Based on a holistic assessment – including elements of physical and psychological health, energetic expression and constitution, trauma history, and life experiences, clients can be guided towards medicines best suited to their personal healing in the moment. Over a number of sessions, assistance can also be provided to create a personal protocol.

MOKWA IS A HAVEN

Child sexual abuse manifests in a wide variety of forms – some driven by intergenerational trauma and a legacy of abuse within the family – others informed by culture, tradition, and history – still more perpetrated by the powerful, often those at the head of established community systems.

Mokwa serves all survivors who would seek our help.

We intimately understand the nuances of different forms of childhood sexual violence and leverage our life experiences, knowledge, and expertise to help survivors navigate their personal healing journeys.

We most often serve survivors within four distinct domains of experience:

CHRISTINA MOKWA

I’m exceptionally grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from – and be inspired by – some of the world’s most soulful and impactful teachers on psychology, trauma, spirituality, and psychedelics – and have leveraged these experiences to create something entirely new.

MOMENTS OF MUTUAL LOVE

  • “Christina is deeply sensitive and empathetic, and as someone who has been told that I am too emotional, I have always felt understood by her. Sharing with each other the beautiful depth of emotion we experience in this life is something I hold dearly in my heart.

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to feel, and be, truly seen. Christina took the time to put her whole heart into those she was serving, and let them know that she too was once in their place. Christina's warm mentorship has helped me through many anxiety-filled periods in my life.

Spirits like Christina are difficult to come by, and her willingness to share her personal experiences, knowledge, and spirituality is invaluable.”

    — ORIANNA SOUBLETTE

  • “After spending time with Christina, I can undoubtedly say she has positively impacted my life. I’ve developed a meaningful interest in psychology, mental health, self-care, and a desire to know myself truly, and better my own life. I learned that with the right tools, skills, and guidance you can improve your mental health and self-perception. I have learned that giving your mental health priority and having the right support system is crucial in improving your life.

Christina has been a central part of that support system and served as a place of peace and acceptance during an especially difficult time in my life when I didnt have the support I desired being queer in a Latinx home.”

    — HILLARY ALMANZAR

  • “Christina has been a gentle, calming presence during stressful times in my life.

Watching the grace and self-awareness that she carries herself with inspired me to want the same things, and Christina helped me start that journey when I asked for guidance.

She provided me a gentle, restful place of non-judgement and support at a time when I needed it.

Without that safe haven I don’t think I would be as happy and healthy as I am today.

I’m truly grateful for her, our connection, and the deep learning of our time together.”
