Persimmon // Communion

Kültür Tava, Ugur Basaran (1964)

On Gods & Monsters

persimmon // communion

The way you feed me persimmon fruit

Man

Geisha

The way you scoop the tender flesh so carefully

As if restoring a Caravaggio

As if you were touching, tasting, mine

All luscious mouth

All gentle grace

The wisdom of age

Carved into your smile lines

‘Eat this’

You tell me

‘It’ll help’

A turn of the wrist, the amber light of the morning

Restores all that had been torn

Heals all

As my mouth closes

In a half moon smile

Around the spoon
